Information for Parents and Guardians
As your child is taking part in a Queen Mary University of London outreach activity, we want to ensure that you are aware of how we collect and use information about their background, circumstances and educational journey.
Please read the information below, which explains why we collect this information, how it supports our outreach activities and how it may be shared with trusted partners.
How We Use Your Information
To help us evaluate the long-term impact of our activities and fulfil our regulatory requirements, we would appreciate your child’s support in providing additional information. This data will be used for research and evaluation purposes and may be shared with trusted partners, such as the Higher Education Access Tracker (HEAT), the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS), and the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).
Providing this information helps us assess whether our activities are reaching underrepresented groups and supporting students in accessing and succeeding in Higher Education.
We also ask questions to help us understand students’ backgrounds and identify opportunities to provide appropriate support during their journey into Higher Education. Responses are handled securely, and students can select ‘Prefer not to say’ if they do not wish to disclose particular information. If a student indicates that they may benefit from additional support, our team may contact them, where appropriate and where they have agreed to be contacted, to discuss available opportunities.
You can find full details about how personal data is used, stored and protected, including information about individual rights, in our Data Protection Notice for Outreach Activities
